California Budget Cut Pushes Personal Injury Court Dates Back

Trail court dates are being pushed back.  Clients suffering from personal injury claims are harassing their attorneys, demanding settlements.  And why is this?  Well, it’s all due to a California Budget Cut.

Litigation Partner Kent Keller has been quoted, “The court system has been dealing with budget problems for a number of years now, but this one will hit courts hard in terms of their ability to continue to function as they have.”  He adds that the cut will have a serious negative impact on an already strained court system.

These budget cuts are going to close 11 Los Angeles County courtrooms, lay off 157 employees, and move hundreds upon hundreds of them to lower-level positions or new positions because their old ones have been terminated.  Also, reporters will no longer be provided for civil trials and will have to be issued by attorneys.
